Stoxhatch for students
You do not need money to start investing. You need practice, and somewhere being wrong is free. That is this: $10,000.00 of fake cash, real prices from the US market, and no card anywhere near it.
Start in about thirty seconds
No account needed to play. Open it, pick a company you actually use, and buy some shares. Add an email later if you want to keep the portfolio — it keeps everything you already did.
The one rule
Before you buy, you write one line saying why. Not "it's going up" — a real reason, the kind that could turn out to be wrong. Then you say how sure you are, 1 to 5.
When you sell, the app shows you that sentence again. Being able to see whether your reasoning was actually any good — rather than just whether you got lucky — is the entire skill, and almost nobody has a record of it.
Why it is not just a game of who made the most
Over a month, whoever gained the most probably took the wildest bet and got away with it. So the score here is XP and streaks: reading the briefing, writing real reasons, reviewing trades you closed. Things you control.
Play with your friends or your class
Make a private group and invite people. You can share picks with your reasoning, argue about each other's, and run a competition over a set period that is scored on decision quality. Nobody can see your money or your trades — only what you choose to share.
New to all of it?
Read the glossary — ticker, share, position, unrealized P/L, each explained in a sentence. Or skip it and look words up when you hit them, which is faster.
You need to be 13 or older. Start playing, or see how it works.
