Stock market game for students
Stoxhatch is a free stock market game for students. You get $10,000.00 of simulated money, buy and sell real US companies at live market prices, and write down why before each trade goes through — so you find out whether your reasoning was right, not just whether the number went up.
How the game works
- Search a company you already know — the shoes you wear, the phone in your hand.
- Look at what the price has done and decide what you think happens next.
- Write the reason in a sentence, and rate how sure you are from 1 to 5.
- Buy. The shares, the price and your reason are all saved.
- When you sell, the app reads the outcome back against what you said would happen.
Why a written reason matters
Anyone can be right once. The thing that separates an investor from a gambler is being able to say in advance why a company is worth owning, and then checking honestly whether that reason was what actually played out. Stoxhatch grades that, plus your confidence calibration — whether the trades you were sure about really did work out more often than the ones you were not.
Play against your friends or your class
Private groups let you compete with friends, family or a whole class. Competitions are scored on decision quality rather than raw return, so the winner is not whoever bet everything on one volatile stock the week it happened to jump. Your cash, holdings and trades stay private; only what you deliberately post to the ideas feed is shared.
Is it free, and is it real money?
It is free, and the money is not real. You cannot deposit or withdraw, nothing is routed to a broker, and there is nothing to lose. The prices are real, which is the part that makes the practice worth anything. Stoxhatch is for ages 13 and up, and you can start playing without making an account at all.
